This would have to be one of the smallest RSL clubs I have visited but I understand they are shortly relocating this sub branch to a new home in the renovated Sydney Hotel on the banks of the Ovens River. This is not far away from the current location and will still be within easy walking distance to the Wangaratta central business/retail district.
It was close to our accommodation at the Painters Island Caravan park and a very convenient place to enjoy a pre-dinner drink. Diggers’ Bistro offers Australian and Malaysian Cuisine, and upstairs at the current location are conference/seminar/social facilities seating up to 80 persons.
We hope to return and see what the new RSL club looks like.
