While holidaying at Swan Hill, Victoria, we stayed at the Big4 Riverside caravan park which backs onto the junction of the Murray and Marraboor (also known as the Little Murray) Rivers. What a Great place to explore on the Fanatic Inflatable SUP.
The currents in this part of the Murray River are quite strong so we decided to paddle up the Marraboor which is much smaller and protected from the wind by large trees and steep banks. There are several locations within the caravan park that lead to the river's edge, making it convenient to launch the SUP. Just up the river from this Big 4 park is the Pioneer Settlement showing the unique history of the Murray Mallee region. An historic part of Swan Hill which houses a paddle steamer 'GEM' and a number of carefully restored buildings - a very popular tourist destination.
Looking at these attractions from the river gives you another perspective of life on the Murray.
