During our return journey from Falls Creek to Bright in the alpine region of Victoria we call in for a refreshing drink at the Settlers Tavern along the main road. The Settlers Tavern is only about 160 metres from the Mount Beauty Holiday Centre but the address is South Tawonga - very confusing.
We purchased our drinks and went outside to enjoy the beer garden in the late afternoon. This is also a a dog friendly area. It was early autumn and not too cold in the valley but during winter they have a lovely open fire going inside.
The Settlers Tavern has a bar, bistro and drive through bottle shop. I believe it is open for dinner seven days a week and quite popular with visitors at nearby accommodation.
