Mount Beauty is a beautiful spot in the alpine region of Victoria and very popular with visitors in both summer and winter. We called in to look around during autumn while on a day trip from Bright to Halls Creek.
First stop was Mount Beauty Caravan Park - Mount Beauty Holiday Centre – Kiewa Valley Highway (technically in South Tawonga). What a beautiful setting along the edge of a clear mountain creek. The caravan park is flat and open with plenty of grass and shade - fire pits have been created at various locations around the park and guests were sitting around these enjoying a relaxing afternoon. Mount Beauty has small shopping centre, with cafes, supermarket, takeaway outlets etc. Nearby the swimming pool, park lands for visitors for stop for a picnic, local herb garden and tavern. This area is a huge bike riding mecca and Mount Beauty VIC specialises in trail guides of the Alpline National Park. Of course there are bike shops in town for repairs, sales and hiring equipment. Some things to do in this beautiful area include - bush walking, fishing, paragliding, skiing and white water rafting. T
