About a kilometres from Bogong as you head towards Falls Creek is a lovely walking track to Fainter Falls. These falls were exposed during the 2006 fires and a walking track with several boardwalks have been created for visitors to enjoy the view.
Fainter Falls run all year round and are fed by water seeping from springs, rain and melting snow. The car parking area is across the road from the start of the walk which is about 700 metres each way up and down the hillside. You come to a viewing platform to see the falls from one side, then a little further along another boardwalk takes you across the fast flowing river and then down a series of stone steps. The view from this side of the river gave me a better understanding of just how much water is flowing down the Fainter Falls and rushing along Fainter Creek.
I think this is well worth the walk.
