Port Julia is a small community about 16 kilometres north of Port Vincent on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. The Port Julia Jetty is popular for fishing and holidaymakers wanting to get a feed of seafood - there are public toilets and seating available. Apparently this is a good sport for catching crabs at certain times of the year - I am told you need to check the tides.
A white sandy beach is perfect for swimming and within walking distance to the Reichenbach Memorial Bush Camping Reserve - a basic campsite on the corner of Julia Road and Osbrey Street as you enter town.
There are no shopping facilities at Port Julia, however Ardrossan and Port Vincent are only a short drive away (about 10 minutes). Both towns offer a supermarket, butcher, chemist, hardware store and more. A perfect place for a quiet family holiday.
