Mannum Visitor Information Centre is on the main street of Mannum (Randell Street) - turn left as you drive off the ferry. It is located in the foyer of the museum and the front counter is shaped like a paddle steamer - quite ingenious as this is apparently known as the birthplace of the Australian Paddlesteamer.
It was an easy walk to the Visitor Information Centre from our caravan at the Mannum Top Tourist Caravan Park and we gathered plenty of information on what to see in the area. The staff suggested we head up to Walker Flat to watch reflections on the limestone cliffs as the sun was setting - what a beautiful sight. This centre is staffed by local volunteers who know a lot about the area and are passionate about Mannum and the Murray River.
The Visitor Information Centre opens seven days a week, 9 am - 5 pm Monday to Friday and 11 am - 4 pm Saturday and Sunday (closed Christmas Day and Good Friday). They have a wide range of marine souvenirs, objects and toys for all ages and an excellent selection of books providing additional information after a Museum visit. Murraylands Regional Products are displayed and sold in a section of their own - a great way to support local producers.
