Lyrup is a small village in South Australia between Renmark and Berri - access from Renmark is via a 24 ferry service across the Murray River (we loved travelling on these ferries in South Australia). This community is located near beautiful vineyards and the Murray River National Park - Lyrup Flats which is a great area for bird watching, fishing camping, and bush walking.
This is a quite little town and the SS Ellen Park on the riverfront offers a free camp site for up to 72 hours in a self contained caravan or motorhome (no tents allowed). This park has public toilets, boat ramp, children's playground, picnic tables and plenty of shade from large river gums. Lyrup has a general store (fuel, groceries, bank agency, souvenirs, Post Office) , community club, bowling club and rural fire station.
