BIG4 Townsville Woodlands Holiday Park

Woodlands Holiday Park on the northern side of Townsville is a member of BIG4 parks with a large new recreation area. This park is located on the Bruce highway and there were lots of road works in progress during our visit. This was unfortunate as it has created lots of dust and access is a little tricky - turn at the lights.

This park has two pools – a small one near the cabins at the front entrance and a large pool at the back of the park in an area that also houses a great water park for small children. Alongside the water park and water slides are a children’s play area, large chess set, giant connect 4 game, jumping pillow and an 18 hole mini golf range. An undercover barbeques area is located at the end of Dolphin Drive and close to playgrounds.

We were given access to one of the Villas at the Park which has a two way bathroom with a small living area, verandah and car parking space. We also say a studio type cabins near the front of the park - small and old but also very clean.

Woodlands Holiday Park has plenty of ensuite sites and some permanent vans, with a lovely shaded amenities block towards the rear of the park. 

The gardens contain a large number of palms trees providing shade but not a lot of grass as it had been dry.  The Park offers caravan storage, unpowered camping sites, dump point, boom gate, kiosk and movie nights.  It is only 14 kilometres from the centre of Townsville and a convenient place to stay when visiting north Queensland.
