Charleville is a town in south western Queensland, Australia, 683 kilometres (424 mi) west of Brisbane (the Queensland capital). It is the largest town and administrative centre of the Shire of Murweh, which covers an area of 43,905 square kilometres. During our travels in outback Queensland we stopped for several nights at Charleville - located on the Warrego Highway (from the east) and the Mitchell Highway (from North or South). We stayed at Baileys Bar Caravan Park in town which is one of several parks in the area. The streets are wide which gives you plenty of space to maneuver when towing a caravan. There are some beautiful old building in town and a large levee bank that was constructed after the 1990 floods.

Charleville is situated on the Warrego River and is a great spot for fishing. This is a lovely, friendly country town and we intend to return.
