The Cairns Esplanade has changed dramatically since our last visit to the area in 2001. There is now a beautiful parkland along the ocean foreshore with a very busy, large pool area - the Lagoon. Change rooms, and lockers available to protect valuables while swimming or just relaxing in the cool water on a hot day,
The two Visitor Information Centres are located across the road providing accommodation and tour bookings as well as maps of the CBD and Cairns area. The Esplanade is within walking distance to a range of motels, apartments, resorts, restaurants and a variety of shop.
This is definitely worth a visit.
