Blackwater is a small town in Queensland about 75 kilometres east of Emerald along the Capricorn Highway.
During a recent caravan adventure through Queensland we drove through the small community of Blackwater where we thought we might stay the night. This is a mining town with a couple of caravan parks – mostly full of dongas for the Miners.
Discovery Holiday Park seemed to be the largest park located within walking distance of the newly built Blackwater International Coal Centre. It is close to shops and a short drive to town. They have motel facilities as well as new en-suited rooms and standard cabins- great for corporate travellers or a large workforce group such as Mining employees
This accommodation has wireless Internet, dining hall, laundry facilities and parking. Not sure if they even offer caravan sites any more.
