The Boulders Boulders is a well known attraction and is named for a series of huge outcrops of granite boulders found along Babinda Creek. The car parking area is about 6 kilometres drive from the small town of Babinda and has plenty of space for caravans and RVs. In fact there is a free camping area nearby allowing 72 hour stays for people travelling with tents, caravans and motor homes.
This is a popular cool swimming spot and picnic area in the tropical rainforest at the bottom of Mt Bartle Frere. The huge rainfall of the area causes water to rush over the boulders and surrounding rainforest make it a beautiful place to visit during your holiday in northern Queensland.
The main park contains covered picnic areas, barbecues, children’s play equipment, toilets and changing rooms as well as plenty of open grassed areas. A sealed, well maintained walking track leads downstream to the main Boulders viewing area - the tracks are well signposted and also display safe swimming zones.
