Ti Tree is a small community on the Stuart Highway in the Northern Territory - about 190 kilometres north of Alice Springs. We called in to the Roadhouse for fuel and to enjoy our lunch in the shade. This is apparently the most central Pub in Australia and the bar was made of beautiful aged timber. Inside the Roadhouse was cool which was most welcome on a hot day.
The fuel price was different to that advertised on signs as you headed towards town but still reasonable for a small outback community. There is a lovely covered verandah running along the front of the pub and takeaway food is available as well as souvenirs and basic supplies.
A caravan park is located behind the Ti Tree Roadhouse which provided plenty of shade for an overnight stay. This park has a large security gate across the entrance and seemed to have a number of flat sites. This would be a convenient place to stay when travelling down the centre of Australia.
