Pine Creek Railway Resort

We called into the Pine Creek Railway Resort for morning tea on our trip from Kakadu to Katherine in the Northern Territory. You cannot miss the restaurant at the entrance to the Resort with the sides of the building shaped like two trains parked at a Railway Station - quite unique. This Resort is very modern inside and the service was great.  We had a homemade sausage roll, a freshly made scone with jam and real cream plus coffee - Delicious.  The eating area and bar overlook the resort' swimming pool which is lovely. You can enjoy your food beside the pool if you wish.

The reception area has a lovely little gift shop and also operates as the local Post Office. The grounds are well maintained with 17 lovely furnished cabins - single, queen, self-contained (up to 3 people) and family (4 people).   

We really enjoyed eating here - the atmosphere was welcoming, the service was friendly and the dining room has been beautifully decorated. I recommend this a a lovely spot to take a break (or stay a while) when heading along the Stuart Highway.
