Korowan (Mataranka Falls) Walk

Korowan Walk to Mataranka Falls starts at 12 Mile Yards (Jalmurark Camping Ground) and is worth the effort. I would not call it an easy walk as the track can be very sandy in places so make sure you allow plenty of time and of course wear good shoes. I took a walking stick which proved to be very useful. The walk took longer than we expected so I was very grateful to have plenty of water in my camelback.

Along the way you will see beautiful views of the Roper River and parts of the track are nicely shaded for relief from the sun. Keep an eye out for the signs (painted arrows or ribbons) that show you where the track is headed.

We were lucky enough to see a Bower Bird nest hidden at the base of a tree beside the walking path.
