Kata Tjuta Sunset Viewing area is located close to the amazing rock formations of Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). We stopped here for morning tea after our walk through the Valley of the Winds and were happy to find a spot in the shade in order to escape the heat on a warm Northern Territory spring day - 38 degrees. This is the suggested place to visit to watch the sunset over Kata Tjuta, and the National Park have provided shaded seating, eco-friendlty toilets, drinking water and plenty of parking spaces.
The optimal viewing area is a short walk from the car park but you can see these amazing rocks from anywhere. We highly recommend a visit to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) when you come to this area to see Uluru. Accommodation is available at Yalara (about 50 kilometres away) and you can see Kata Tjuta from viewing platform created on sand dunes around the town - they are enormous.
