Agquip held near Gunnedah each year is a huge event and we travelled out to take a look while staying in Tamworth during August 2016 (Gunnedah is very busy and the caravan park was fully booked). We left early but were held up by an accident just outside of Gunnedah - no problem as there is a huge car parking area with plenty of space (you just have to walk a little further).
This is Australia's biggest field day event which is massive and is a wonderful opportunity for farmers to see the latest products. For many companies, it’s a rare chance to talk to the end user and find out how their products are performing. Agquip is very well organised with a huge number of companies displaying all sorts of farming equipment, cars, caravans, banks, display houses, crafts, camping accessories etc. I understand that if you walk up and down all the aisles you will cover over 14 kilometres - no wonder I was exhausted at the end of the day.
We enjoyed morning tea at the CWA stand to support country ladies and then wandered around to look at some of the displays. Lunch at one of the steak cafes – which are set up at various locations selling only one particular type of meat e.g Murray Grey, Angus, Devon, etc. The actual brand of cow used in the sandwich is standing in a pen beside the seating areas.
An amazing day out and highly recommended.
