Lake Ginninderra is an artificial lake located on the Ginninderra Creek in Canberra - it is adjacent to the Belconnen Town Centre and a popular spot for picnics and daily walks. The parklands are very well maintained with shaded seating, public toilets. children's playgrounds and various walking/cycling paths.
We decided to try paddling the lake on the inflatable Fanatic Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) and headed out for a picnic in the park before exploring the water's edge. What a lovely spot with easy access to the water and plenty of parking. We inflated the Fanatic board in shaded grassy area before selecting a sandy spot to enter the water. As you can see from some of the photos this is a beautiful spot with Black Mountain Tower in the background.
I would definitely recommend you head out to Lake Ginninderra and try SUPing when you next visit Canberra - lots of fun.
