The Zebra Rock Gallery can be found on Packsaddle Road just outside Kununurra in the East Kimberley Region of Western Australia - look out for the Zebra sign about nine kilometres along this road from the highway. They have a great range of jewelry, animals, bowls and other items made out of beautiful Zebra Rock which is only found in the Kimberley area. You can watch the craftsman in their workshop out the back shaping and polishing this rock. They have the best work area - no walls and located in a beautiful shady garden.
I would strongly recommend the Zebra Rock Gallery Cafe for morning tea - mango smoothies and mango fruit cake are my favourite. Tables are provided outside so you can enjoy your morning tea overlooking the Ord River and Elephant Rock. Head down to the wharf and feed the cat fish and archer fish that congregate near the wharf.
On one of our visits to the Zebra Rock Gallery we were towing the caravan - there is a great turnaround area for buses and vans just past the gallery. They also provide caravan storage from April - September so you can tour off-road or go cruising the Kimberley and leave you van in a safe place.
