Echidna Chasm car park is north of the Visitor Information Centre of Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungles). The road into Purnululu National Park is 4WD only and all the roads within the Park are unsealed.
Echidna Chasm is a fairly difficult walk over river rocks and I used my walking stick to help with footing while negotiating this track. You walk through a narrow gap in the rocks and make your way around boulders that have fallen into the chasm. There are several ladders to help you climb deep inside where you will see beautifully coloured rock formations. Some areas are very narrow and only just wider than your shoulders.
Once inside it is very cool which was a great relief form the 37 degree day outside. Make sure you take plenty of water and a hat as the temperature within the Park can be hot and humid.
