Nippys - Waikerie

Nippy's is a citrus packing and processing plant in Waikerie - situated between Mannum and Renmark in the Riverland Region of South Australia.  We stopped to have a look around Waikerie during or caravan adventure along the Murray River and were told about this outlet by the local Visitor Information Centre.

Nippy's products can be purchased through factory door sales (Ian Oliver Drive) along with fresh citrus in season – they process oranges and milk products. The outlet is very reasonably priced and we purchased ginger beer, dried plums, orange juice, apple juice and some fresh oranges. There is plenty of room to park alongside the processing plant while towing a caravan.

Citrus is exported to the USA, UK, South East Asia, New Zealand, Hong Kong as well as Japan, and the fruit at Nippy's is sourced from local and Riverland fruit-growers. This is a great place to stop but be warned that you should check quarantine restriction on fresh fruit when heading into Victoria or Western Australia.
