Sapphire - Rest Area

Sapphire is a small community about 54 kilometres from Emerald in central Queensland. This is a very popular fossicking area and part of The Gemfields which attracts a large number of visitors each year. A free camping area is available near the local pool and allows 48 hours free camping in tent, caravan or motor home. There is an area in front of the pool and an overflow area on the other side.  

These sites are mainly dirt and there are some trees providing shade. It is located near the top shop which also sells fuel.
