The Pioneer Park Museum at Dalby is just off the Warrego Highway on Black Street - as you head west from the centre of town. When we visited the entrance fee was $5 per head and this allowed you to come back anytime over a one week period. This museum is set on a large block of land and many of the collections are housed in old buildings that have been moved to this location or rebuilt out of old material.
A great collection of old trucks and tractors, farm machinery and a rare old Hearse can be found in the grounds. Bottles collected from all over Australia - it seems that different towns produced bottled drink and each had the name of the town stamped or printed on their product. One of my favourites is an old school room set up showing how small the desks were and how little equipment the teachers had for use in the classroom. A blacksmith shop in full working order and a huge collection of rock, minerals and fossils.
All sorts of memorabilia is displayed at this museum - I think you could come back several times and find something different each visit. The gift shop is jammed full of local craft - it is mind boggling how much they have on display at the Dalby Pioneer Park Museum.
