Ford Motor Company of Australia Limited (Ford Australia), a subsidiary of Ford Motor Company of Canada, manufactures, imports and distributes small, medium and large passenger vehicles, together with four-wheel drive and commercial vehicles, for domestic and export markets.
Ford Australia was founded in Geelong, Victoria in 1925. It is the third largest automotive manufacturer in Australia with two plant locations and more than 3,000 employees.
Ford Australia has a long history of building vehicles for the domestic market. The Campbellfield plant in Melbourne manufactures the Falcon sedan and utility, as well as the highly popular Territory SUV. Ford’s acclaimed in-line 4.0-litre six cylinder naturally aspirated turbo and EcoLPi engines are manufactured at the company’s Geelong plant.
Ford Australia also has a strong portfolio of imported vehicles – including the Fiesta, Focus, Mondeo, Ford Kuga SUV, Ranger pickup truck and Transit commercial vehicles.
These imported vehicles, together with the locally manufactured vehicles, incorporate popular in-car features and smart driving technologies that help to improve fuel efficiency and safety without sacrificing Ford’s renowned reputation for dynamic, fun-to-drive vehicles.
Apart from its strong manufacturing base, the company has a strong history of giving back to the community – at both its Campbellfield and Geelong plants. Ford Australia continues this tradition with various outreach initiatives supporting corporate citizenship, volunteering and local sustainability.
