Shady Lane Tourist Park - Katherine

Shady Lane Tourist Park is a Top Tourist Caravan Park located about six kilometres from Katherine on the road to Nitmiluk National Park - Katherine Gorge. This a large park with plenty of flat caravan sites and lovely shaded areas. The sites and roads around the park are mostly gravel (we didn't see much grass) - it was well maintained and very welcoming. This park is close to Katherine Gorge (about 23 kilometres), and a short walk to the Katherine River if you are a keen fisher person. 

Facilities of the Shady Lane Tourist Park include:

• large shaded swimming pool
• gas barbeques for guests
• Kiosk and tour booking
• neat and tidy amenities block with open laundry - very clean
• camp kitchen
• caravan storage
• sites suitable for large rigs - parking assistance available if required
• all sites are powered - most were separated by palm trees (great shade)
• elevated self-contained cabins - I guess to keep them safe during the wet season - or cool during hot weather. Some of these cabins have space to park the car underneath.
• several self-contained ground floor cabins for easy access.
• quiet location - away from major highways

No pets are allowed at the Shady Lane Tourist Park and the caravan sites are set well back from the road. This looks like a very relaxing place to stay while exploring the area.
