Uralla is a small town on the Northern Tablelands, New South Wales, Australia. The town is located at the intersection of the New England Highway and Thunderbolts Way, 465 kilometres north of Sydney and about 23 kilometres south west of the city of Armidale. At the 2011 census, the township of Uralla had a population of 2,388 people, while the larger gazetted locality of 193.5 km2 had a population of 2,754 people.© Wikipedia

Uralla is a lovely little town on the New England Highway of NSW between Tamworth and Armidale. We have visited Uralla on many occasions which looks quite beautiful during the autumn months and can be very cold in winter.
There a a couple of caravan parks in town and a range of cafe's restaurants and hotels plus a couple of bakers on the main street. You can search gold or gems at the Wooldridge Recreation and Fossicking Reserve, or take a drive to one of the scenic places around the area:
Learn about the history of last of the New South Wales' bushrangers, Frederick Wordsworth Ward, better known as "Captain Thunderbolt", who is buried in the Pioneer cemetery at Uralla. There are several other tourist attraction in town relating to Thunderbolt:
I love the fact that two of the pubs in town are called Top Pub and Bottom Pub - easy to remember.
