The Manning River runs through the town of Taree in NSW and is a great location for the Easter Powerboat Spectacular. This event starts on Good Friday and runs until Easter Monday - will be held from 14 to 16 April 2017.
We have travelled to Taree on several occasions to watch some of the racing and there are great viewing spots along the foreshore of the river from Fotheringham Park to Endeavoour Place. Plenty of parking is available with only a short walk to the river - take your own seat or picnic rug to sit and watch these speed boats fly by as they race around the buoys.
The event attracts both local and international drivers with some of the best racing on offer and be warned they can be very noisy. This is definitely worth experiencing.
