What a beautiful spot near Port Macquarie in NSW. Cassegrain Winery is located just off the Pacific Highway near the north entrance to Port Macquarie. Roadworks are taking place along the Highway near the Winery but access is clearly signposted and the drive is lined with roses and Jacaranda trees - beautiful in Spring.
We have visited the winery on several occasions and are planning to hold a wedding in the gardens in the near future. Seasons Restaurant is our choice for the reception and Carolyn (Restaurant and Function Manager) goes out of her way to help make the day extra special. They are happy to have children at the restaurant and provide a choice of meals to suit all tastes.
The Restaurant is open from 10 am to 4 pm daily with the menu continually changing to suit the season using local, fresh produce (I guess that is why it is called 'Seasons"). We have enjoyed morning tea and lunch at Seasons and highly recommend both. This is an easy place to relax and enjoy your food (and maybe a wine or two) overlooking vineyards, roses and shaded parklands.
Of course you can head down to the cellar door and try some of the beautiful wines produced by the Cassegrain family. I have found the staff working at the Cellar Door to be very friendly and helpful - explaining the wines as you taste and happy to help with any purchase. They also sell a range of local cheeses and products supporting other producers in the area. We have joined the Cassegrain Wine Club and look forward to receiving a selection of wines every four months. Joining the Club also gives members a discount on wine purchases, meals and merchandise.
Cassegrain Winery even has a Tesla Charging Station for those lucky enough to own one of these amazing electric cars. The Tesla drivers can enjoy a meal or coffee while they recharge their batteries (and the car's) which only takes about 30 minutes. This Supercharger station was opened in early 2016.
I would not hesitate to recommend Cassegrain as a place to visit when holidaying in or near Port Macquarie on the NSW coast.
