Our budget cabins provide clean basic accommodation. There is no bathroom and guests use the nearby amenities block, which has recently been completely refurbished. Open plan cabin with double bed in main area, one set of double bunk beds and a small kitchen, dining table/chairs, television and DVD player. Kitchen has sink, stove top, microwave, small fridge/freezer as well as cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. This cabin is air-conditioned and has heating. Bedding can be hired for beds or guests can bring their own. Mattress protectors and pillows provided for all beds.
We photographed Budget Cabin Number 14 at the BIG4 Castlemaine Gardens Holiday Park and, as the name suggests, this is the cheapest form of onsite accommodation. This cabin has no bathroom but is located close to the amenities block for convenience. The amenities block has been beautifully renovated and has very clean and spacious, toilets, showers and a wonderful family bathroom. In fact it is one of the most amazing family bathrooms I have seen on our travels. It is huge with change table, bathtub, shower and toilet – enough room for the whole family. Claire (the owner of the park) has even made sure there are toys for the little ones and a non-slip mat on the bottom of the bath. The park also has an amazing camp kitchen with open fire, children's games room and jumping pillow.
The Budget Cabin has a double bed and single bunk beds located in the living area with a dining table, TV microwave and 2 burner cook top with small oven. The cupboards are stocked with plates, cups, cooking utensils and cutlery.
Alongside the cabin is a car parking space for convenience during your stay. BIG4 Castlemaine Gardens Holiday Park is within walking distance to a nice pub, brewery (great local beer), cafe, fruit and vegetable shop and a very interesting Bazaar selling a range of used items - The Mill.
